Terms of sale.

These terms cover every order placed on tlandcandle.com with Tender Love & Candle Co., a candle company based in The Bronx, New York. Placing an order means you accept them.

Every candle is hand-poured in small batches with 100% soy-coconut wax and a cotton wick. Because they are made by hand, the wax surface, the colour and the exact fill can vary slightly from one jar to the next. That is not a fault.

Photographs are as faithful as we can make them, but screens differ. Scent is personal, and a description cannot guarantee how a fragrance will feel in your home.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude delivery, which is calculated at checkout. Sales tax is added where the law requires it.

Payment is taken through Shopify's secure checkout. Your order is confirmed when the payment is accepted and you receive our confirmation email, not before.

We may refuse or cancel an order if an item is out of stock, if a price is clearly wrong, or if we suspect fraud. In that case you are refunded in full.

• ✦Orders usually leave The Bronx within one to two business days.
• ✦Delivery times given by carriers are estimates, not promises.
• ✦Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered to the address you gave us.
• ✦International parcels may be subject to customs duties and local taxes, which are yours to pay.

If a parcel arrives damaged, send us a photo within seven days and we will replace it or refund it.

You have fourteen days from the purchase date to return an unused candle, wick unburned, in its original packaging. Tell us within seven days of receiving your order so we can approve the return.

Once we receive and inspect the item, the refund goes back to your original payment method, usually within seven to ten business days.

Sale items are final sale. Return shipping is yours unless the item was damaged or wrong.

A candle is an open flame. Please follow these rules, which also appear on every jar and in our candle care guide.

• ✦Trim the wick to a quarter of an inch before every light.
• ✦Never leave a burning candle unattended, and never burn one while sleeping.
• ✦Keep candles away from children, pets, draughts and anything that can catch fire.
• ✦Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, for no more than four hours at a time.
• ✦Stop burning when about half an inch of wax is left.

We cannot be held responsible for damage caused by a candle used against these instructions.

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it. We can close an account that is used for fraud or abuse.

The name, the logo, the photographs and the texts on this site belong to Tender Love & Candle Co. You may share a link freely. You may not copy the content for commercial use without asking first.

We stand behind our candles, and where a product is faulty you are entitled to a replacement or a refund. Beyond that, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order, as far as the law allows.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Before anything formal, write to us. Almost everything is solved with an email.
